Holy Family Feast Day Raffle

Dear Holy Family Parish Parishioners and Friends,

We hope this letter finds you and your loved ones well.  The time has gone by so quickly, and we’ve all had to adapt and change our way of life.  We certainly miss all of you at Holy Family Parish and are grateful for each and every one of you.

As you know, we cancelled our Parish Festival event in August.  This was a very difficult decision, but one that was necessary to ensure the well-being of our volunteers and the community who comes out to support this major fundraiser every year.  Our Committee members were meeting earlier this year in preparation of the event.  Shortly before the pandemic, the raffle tickets were ordered and received. We now have raffle tickets and our Committee wanted to make sure we were making good use of them !

So, it has been decided to have a “Feast of the Holy Family Raffle” on Sunday, December 27 in honor of our Parish.  This will be a split pot raffle, which means the parish will keep 50% of the proceeds and the winners will split the other 50%.

For example, if the net proceeds we receive from ticket sales is $ 50,000; Holy Family will keep $ 25,000 and the remaining $ 25,000 will be split up as follows:

First Prize – 70% of the proceeds or $ 17,500

Second Prize – 20% of the proceeds or $ 5,000

Third Prize – 10% of the proceeds or $ 2,500

Please note, these are examples and not the actual prizes to be awarded.  The prize amount will be determined by our ticket sales from now until the last day to turn in ticket– which will be Saturday, December 26.  The drawing will take place on Sunday, December 27 at the 11:30 am Mass.

The current total proceeds as of Friday, October 16, 2020 is $11,955.00.

          First Prize – 70% – $8,368.50

          Second Prize – 20% – $2,391.00

           Third Prize – 10% – $1,195.50

Ticket prices are the same as they are for our event:  $5 each  OR  3 for $10  OR   $6 for $20

We will hold (3) Early-bird  Seller Appreciation drawings of $200 each.  To qualify, you must purchase $40  worth of tickets at one time. Tickets must be received in the parish office by 9:00 A.M. on the day of the drawing.

The dates of the drawing will be:

  • Wednesday, October 7 ~ winner ~ Larry Harubin
  • Wednesday, November 11
  • Wednesday, December 9

The tickets were mailed to all of our parishioners during the week of September 14.  The more we sell, the larger the prizes will be !  Purchased tickets may be returned to the Parish office or drop box located next to the office door or in the collection basket at Church.   Additional tickets will be available at the Parish office or in the Church vestibule.

Although this event cannot make up for the actual event we would have had in August, we are hoping it will be a successful one !  We are hoping to make some much needed repairs to the Church stained glass and window sealants with the proceeds.  The more tickets we sell, the greater the winnings!

May God bless each and every one of you.  Stay safe and well and hope that we can meet again together as a community for next year’s Festival event, which is scheduled for July 28 through August 1, 2021.

The Holy Family Prayer

JESUS, Son of God and Son of Mary, bless our family. Graciously inspire in us the unity, peace, and mutual love that you found in your own family in the little town of Nazareth.

MARY, Mother of Jesus and Our Mother, nourish our family with your faith and your love. Keep us close to your Son, Jesus, in all our sorrows and joys.

JOSEPH, Foster-father to Jesus, guardian and spouse of Mary, keep our family safe from harm. Help us in all times of discouragement or anxiety.

HOLY FAMILY OF NAZARETH, make our family one with you. Help us to be instruments of peace. Grant that love, strengthened by grace, may prove mightier than all the weaknesses and trials through which our families sometimes pass. May we always have God at the center of our hearts and homes until we are all one family, happy and at peace in our true home with you. Amen.
