Health & Wellness Ministry   large product photo

Mission Statement:  Health & Wellness Ministry will focus on the Promotion of Health within the context of the Values, Beliefs and Practices of Holy Family Parish.  Our vision is to meet the needs identified by its members.

Holy Family Parish Health & Wellness Ministry began in March 2005.  Presently, we have twelve members who are all volunteers.  Many parishes have a paid Parish Nurse on staff with volunteer assistance.  Our small group thus far accomplished much in obtaining information from the American Nurses Association, Board of Nursing and Community Resources to help plan projects.  One grand accomplishment was obtaining for the parish a free “AED” (Heart Defibrillator) for our campus.  A few essential parish staff have been trained for the AED’s use.  We also manned the First Aid booths at the recent parish festivals.  A “CPR”  training class was held and completed by those parishioners who signed up.  We continue to provide blood pressure screening on a regular basis for all parishioners.  Please check the parish bulletin for dates and times.  Come—checkup!

Ministry of Consolation   large product photo

Fr. Thomas Gilles and Sr. M. Petronella started the Ministry of Consolation in March 1991 to offer comfort to the family, friends, and relatives of the deceased person being buried at Holy Family Church.  Our group attends all the funerals and participates in the singing, responses, and are readers and Eucharistic Ministers when needed.  At present, we have about thirty-five (35) active members and are always looking forward to having new members join our ministry.

Pro- Life Committee   large product photo

This ministry is dedicated to defending human life from conception to natural death.  The committee works to build a “culture of life” through prayer, practices and activities that uphold the dignity of life.  Its primary function is to educate the parishioners and the general public about life-related topics such as abortion, euthanasia and medical research among a long list of issues possible in society.

This ministry responds to the needs of those within our parish boundaries as well as hunger centers on the near West Side through donations from our parishioners.  We meet the second Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m.  We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the parishioners of Holy Family who respond so generously to our appeals.  By providing everything from school supplies to food and Christmas gifts, you touch many people who desperately need to feel God’s love in a tangible way.  Anyone who would like to join us in our ministry is always welcome!
