As I shared last week, Advent is a time to anticipate Christ’s coming in history and also his coming in glory in the end of time, but we also seek his coming now to us in mystery. Besides the music being slightly different, we will have the Cave and Nativity in the front of the church being decorated in the weeks ahead. Yet, they will be decorated gradually as to heighten our anticipation of Jesus’ coming. May we pay attention to our desires in these Advent weeks. Our aches and yearnings can be a sign of our desire for heaven.
Would you like to light the Advent Wreath before Mass? Making the lighting of the wreath more an activity of our community, we need volunteers to sign up to help. Please come to the sacristy before Mass and proceed to the lector who will do the announcements and prayer. As you come before the altar, bow to the altar and then proceed to the wreathe where you will light the number of candles appropriate to the week. Then return to your pew. You can either use this link or contact the parish office to sign up. Please only sign up for ONE Mass time, as to let others participate.
By the way, using a QR Code is really easy! Most smart phones today have a QR Code reader right in the camera programming. All you have to do is point your camera at the code (DON’T take a picture of the code) and a link should pop up on the screen. Then just hit that link and you will be taken right to the page that it is linked to.
You may notice a banner up in the gathering area about Hallow. Hallow is a great app on your phone that has an amazing amount of prayers and prayerful resources! They send us some material so that we can check them out and take a next step in our prayer lives.
