This week in the bulletin you will see a flyer for our Deanery Lenten Confession schedule. The Deanery is a collection of 18 parishes in our area that is tasked to work together with different projects and initiatives as well as with fostering fraternity amongst the priests and pastors. In our first large initiative, we decided to coordinate times for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, rather than all of the parishes having individual parish or shared penance services. In recent years, it has become more difficult to schedule priests for many different services and not have overlap or lack of availability. This way, each evening will be simple – not having a formal service – and will have a good number of priests available for confessions. Note: that Wednesday (March 4th) is the Diocesan Night of Confession, which is broadly advertised and is intended for those who have been away from the Church or the Sacrament for some time.

Did you know that we have a Lost n Found??? We have a plastic tote in between the church and chapel that has lost and found items in it and has also become quite full. This weekend, we will have the items put out on a table in the Gathering Area. If you identify something of yours, please take it. If not, we will find a home for everything after this weekend.

This week is National Marriage week and here is a prayer for marriage & family by Pope St. John Paul II: Lord God, from you every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. Father, you are Love and Life. Through your Son, Jesus Christ, born of woman, and through the Holy Spirit, fountain of divine charity, grant that every family on earth may become for each successive generation a true shrine of life and love. Grant that your grace may guide the thoughts and actions of husbands and wives for the good of their families and of all the families in the world. Grant that the young may find in the family solid support for their human dignity and for their growth in truth and love. Grant that love, strengthened by the grace of the sacrament of marriage, may prove mightier than all the weakness and trials through which our families sometimes pass. Through the intercession of the Holy Family of Nazareth, grant that the Church may fruitfully carry out her worldwide mission in the family and through the family. Through Christ our Lord, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life for ever and ever. Amen.
