• Last weekend, I spoke about discipleship in reference to Peter’s proclamation that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. While membership in the church is good, discipleship goes beyond and is needed for a vibrant Church. To help define the reality, I shared Seven Marks of Discipleship.
    • Desire: Wanting to grow closer to God and seeking a deeper connection with Jesus.
    • Discernment: Recognizing God’s presence and guidance in your daily life choices.
    • Decision-making for Christ: Actively choosing to follow Jesus and turn away from distractions or sin.
    • Discipline: Building steady spiritual habits like prayer and regular reflection.
    • Dwelling in the Word: Reading, studying, and living out Scripture regularly.
    • Dependence on the Holy Spirit: Trusting God’s power rather than relying solely on your own strength.
    • Doing: Putting faith into action through love, service, and acts of charity toward others.
