On Saturday morning, we had a retreat morning with our 2nd grade children and their parents as they prepare for First Holy Communion later this May. Please keep them in prayer as they prepare to take this next deeper step in faith!

Congratulations to the new transitional deacons who were ordained this weekend! These men will be ordained priests next year after spending a year in service to the Diocese as deacons. Noah Furin of St. Ladislaus in Westlake, Sean Homcy of St. James in Lakewood, and Jeremy Shafer of St. Mary in Berea were ordained on Saturday morning this weekend at the Cathedral downtown. Please keep them and all our seminarians in your prayers!

This week, Mayor Tim Degeeter will come to the parish and meet with myself and some of our school students about the status of the dual York Rd/St. Joseph Cemetery. While it has been a project on my radar to address, we will talk with the mayor about how we can clean up and improve the sacred space for years to come. If you didn’t know, all the land on the south side of the property behind the Sonoco station constitutes a historic Parma cemetery. Stay tuned to our plans for the future.

Be sure to fill out the DMI survey this week if you haven’t done so already!
