• Our parish Pastoral Planning Team, charged with evaluating the results of our Disciple Maker Index Survey from Catholic Leadership Institute, has been meeting for discussion and prayer. The team is comprised of Mr. David Csank, our school principal, Mr. Patrick Osysko, Head of Parish Council, Mr. Mark Ternes, Co-Chair of Finance Council, Mrs. Kathryn DeCapite, our Parish Business Manager, Mr. Nick Moner, parishioner, Mrs. Sarah Metcalf, school parent and PTU Treasurer, Mrs. Gina Matis, parishioner and school teacher’s aid, and Mrs. Elizabeth Johansen, school art teacher. They are not at liberty to discuss the results of the survey but will help me in putting together pastoral priorities. We will share the essential takeaways of the survey when we share the pastoral planning early this coming fall. I share their names for your awareness and so to keep them in prayer as they help me to discern. They too are committing to prayer for our parish especially during this time.
  • While our parish podcast, Unveiling Christianity, is on a brief sabbatical this summer, I will be headed out to Mentor on Thursday to record a 250th episode of the St. Gabriel “Good News” Podcast that I helped to start back in my first assignment there. You will be able to catch the episode on their parish website. Know that Unveiling Christianity will be back this fall with exciting content and interviews from people around the parish.
  • Thursday, July 23rd is the Feast Day of St. Apollinaris. According to tradition, Saint Peter sent Saint Apollinaris to Ravenna, Italy, as its first bishop. As his patron saint, be sure to send up a prayer for our own Fr. (Apolinary) Kavishe on Thursday!
