The month of June is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. There will be booklets in the back of the Church for you to take to learn more about this powerful devotion!
In the Sacred Heart, every treasure of wisdom and knowledge is hidden. In that divine heart beats God’s infinite love for everyone and for each of us as individuals. – St. John Paul II
Do not let the past disturb you. Leave everything in the Sacred Heart of Jesus and begin again with joy. – St. Teresa of Calcutta
Last weekend, I mentioned in my homily that Jesus sent me on a pilgrimage to the last concert of my favorite childhood band. More on that story next week on the podcast, but the song that I mentioned was “Pieces” by RED. I think it is a beautiful reflection on the Prodigal Son. Disclaimer: While this song is peaceful, the band’s music is pretty heavy! It may not be your cup of tea… but for some it may be.
This weekend wewelcome Fr. Spicer to our parish! We are excited to be with him and get to know him. His priesthood and ministry will be a blessing to our parish. Let’s offer this prayer for him as he begins his assignment. If you also offer it for Fr. Kavishe and myself, we certainly won’t complain! 🙂
Gracious and loving God, we thank you for the gift of our priests. Through them, we experience your presence in the sacraments. Help Fr. Spicer to be strong in his vocation. Set his soul on fire with love for your people. Grant him the wisdom, understanding, and strength he needs to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Inspire him with the vision of your Kingdom. Give him the words he needs to spread the Gospel. Allow him to experience joy in his ministry. Help him to become instruments of your divine grace. We ask this through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns as our Eternal Priest. Amen.
