Baptism

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water and in the word.”

Catechism of the Catholic Church No. 1213

Holy Family Parish offers Baptism classes every other month. Parents are required to attend the class before their first child is baptized. If you have already had a child baptized in the Catholic faith, there is no need to attend a Baptism class. One parent must be a practicing Catholic and a registered parishioner of Holy Family.

Godparents are an essential part of your child’s faith. We encourage them to attend the class with you. Godparents should be people who are good, knowledgeable and enthusiastic witnesses of the Catholic faith to help support you and your child on their faith journey.

Please contact the Parish office for more information on the Sacrament of Baptism and registration for baptismal preparation classes.

At this time, we are not offering Pre-Baptism classes, please contact the parish office for a list of available classes nearby.
