It is my pleasure to announce that after a good deal of conversation and discernment, starting on January 1st, Mr. Bob McMurray and Ms. Kiersten Hopko who have been assisting with music these past months will become Co-Coordinators of Sacred Music here at Holy Family. Many of you may know Bob as he was with us previously in 2005. He has extensive experience in playing and directing liturgical music at both the parish and diocesan levels. Kiersten is currently a junior at Baldwin Wallace and studying organ. We are very grateful for both Bob and Kiersten musical and spiritual gifts and their willingness to share them with our parish. Please keep them in your prayers as they begin to work together to help us to worship God beautifully with instrument and voice.

Speaking of beauty, Fr. Michael in the Advent Mission talked about the importance/helpfulness of artwork and icons to help us to direct ourselves to God and pray. As they say, a picture speaks a thousand words. All the more true for religious artwork. Here is a picture of my prayer corner in my room. While I certainly can’t wait to have a proper chapel in the rectory to pray in, this has been a beautiful place to begin my mornings. I would invite all of us to have some kind of prayer space in our homes. Like a front porch: if you have it, you can use it.
