Starting on Monday night is the first book session of “Why We’re Catholic”! Don’t miss out on these important discussions of understanding our faith more deeply. Bring your books, bring your questions, bring a friend!
Bishop Malesic has recently published his first pastoral letter to the diocese called, “A Flourishing Apostolic Church”. It is a great read that helps to share the bishop’s vision for our diocese in the coming years. You can find the document online at: https://www.dioceseofcleveland.org/a-flourishing-apostolic-church
The document references a new structure in the diocese called “deaneries”. Previously named districts, the diocese is divided up into different regions so that corresponding parishes can foster collaborative relationships that help build up ministries in the deanery. This new model will also help to foster priestly fraternity and accompaniment. The Dean of our Deanery is Fr. Tim Gareau, the pastor of St. Collette in Brunswick. He is a good priest and friend. I got to know him well when I was a deacon my last year of seminary and was assigned to St. Raphael in Bay Village where he was pastor. Please keep Fr. Tim in your prayers as he assumes this new role in helping to guide and support the parishes in our area.
