This Saturday morning, 8 men will be ordained to the priesthood at the St. John Cathedral downtown: Dcn Christopher Cotone, Dcn. Anthony Donatelli, Dcn. Jon Hawkins, Dcn. Jeffery Lindholm, Dcn. James Parisi, Dcn. Brian Peters, Dcn. Kyle Rosser, and Dcn. Ryan Arto who is from my home parish, St. Francis de Sales in Portage Lakes. Please keep these men in your prayers as they enter into their new vocation!
You should have received, or will receive soon, a packet in the mail including a letter from me and the raffle ticket sheet for our car raffle this summer. If you do not receive them for some reason, please let our office know and they can have a copy for you. We will also have them available soon at the back of the church. The tickets can be mailed or returned to the parish office. Gratefully, our school communities are also helping to sell tickets as well and they have some fun challenges to sell tickets before the end of the school year. As I mention in the letter, the tickets are a great way to not only raise funds for our parish but also extend a personal invitation for someone to join us for the Celebration Weekend!
One of the ways Fr. Kavishe ministers to our community, is in visiting and celebrating Mass at our local nursing homes. We have a number of facilities in our parish boundary for which we are responsible and there are many people who need to be visited and prayed with. While Fr. Kavishe, Fr. Joe and myself are only able to get out and visit so many people, it remains a ministry of great need. I am grateful for Fr. Kavishe’s great help to those in need of a visitation and prayer! If you have time and feel called, please let our office know if you would like to help Fr. Kavishe in our ministry to the homebound and those in nursing facilities around our parish.
