This weekend we say thank you and farewell to Fr. Joe Spolny. We are very grateful to Fr. Joe for his priesthood and dedication to our parish and many other parish communities over the years. We will remember his thought-provoking homilies, quick wit, depth of knowledge, and love of our Lord Jesus. May we keep him in prayer as he begins this new season of retirement.
Next weekend we welcome our new priest, Fr. Patrick Spicer with Pierogis and Polkas after the 11:30 Mass!!! Please join in this celebration and, if you are able, please bring a side to go with the pierogis! If you need to bring a dish/crockpot to the cafeteria before Mass, please feel free to do so.
Here are a few powerful quotes on the Eucharist:
St. Maximilian Kolbe: “If angels could be jealous of men, they would be so for one reason: Holy Communion.”
St. Pio of Pietrelcina: “A thousand years of enjoying human glory is not worth even an hour spent sweetly communing with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.”
St. Thomas Aquinas: “The Eucharist is the sacrament of love: it signifies love, it produces love. The Eucharist is the consummation of the whole spiritual life.”
St. Theresa of Calcutta: “Jesus has made Himself the Bread of Life to give us life. Night and day, He is there. If you really want to grow in love, come back to the Eucharist, come back to that Adoration.”
