We began the new Liturgical Year with our Parish Mission led by Father Michael Denk. Father led us on a prayer journey as we embarked upon This Advent Mission, taught us of the importance of prayer, and Father Mike guided us through different ways to approach prayer. With his guidance we were able to discover that when we pray deeply, we can hear God speak!
As we turn our calendars to March we will begin the season of Lent. This would be a good time to create some kind of prayer space in our homes and renew our commitment to daily prayer. In this season of prayer, fasting and almsgiving, use the Little Black Book and make some prayer time to reflect on Christ’s life based on the Passion narrative in the Gospel of John. The left hand page in our book has information and timely thoughts on the virtue of Hope, the theme of this Jubilee Year. The Black Book is an investment that will pay big returns.
Don’t forget to pick up a Little Purple Book for your little ones as well. This year’s book features Signs and Symbols of our faith and practicing our faith.
Books are available at the Parish Office and in the back of church this weekend. A donation of $2 is suggested.
