Thank you to all of the veterans of our parish and parishioners’ families who have given their lives to the service and protection of our country! We are indebted to countless men and women who have helped to keep our land a place to enjoy life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Know of our deepest gratitude and fervent prayers for all of your needs.

As shared last weekend, the Angel Scholarship Fund is an easy and important way of helping cover the cost of tuition in our school. While most of our kids receive from the EdChoice Program, there are some families with children with disabilities who receive from the Jon Peterson Scholarship and yet remain in need. Thank you to all those who have contributed to the Fund in the past. Essentially, you pay the government a sum of money that would be your owed amount for taxes next year, or, your tax liability. Rather than hold on to that amount, they send it on to the Diocese who holds onto the allocated monies and then who disperses to the school bi-annually. The government will then pay you back the amount you paid them next spring. Easy peasy and a great way to help families afford Catholic Education and Formation at our day school. If you contribute to the Fund before the end of the year, those monies will be available to the school in 2025/26, if after the first of the year and before April 15th they won’t be available until 2026/27.

In this late part of the liturgical year, we begin to focus on the “Last Things”: Death, Judgement, Heaven, and Hell. This week is also the feast of St. Gertrude. Traditionally, this is her prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory:

Eternal Father, I offer You the most Precious Blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in  Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the  Universal Church, those in my own home, and within my family. Amen.
