Thanks to all who came out for our first evening of the “Why We’re Catholic” Book Study! We had over 90 parishioners attend, and we had a great conversation! For the next session (now scheduled for January 27th), if you are able, please read chapters 5-10. Each session will cover one of the main sections of the book. If you don’t have a book or are not able to read, please still come join us! Also, for those who are unable to do Monday evenings, there will be daytime sessions run in the near future. I am also planning on doing a podcast on the entire book chapter by chapter that will flesh it out even more.
This week (Tuesday through Friday) I will be in San Antonio, TX for a conference called “Priests for an Apostolic Age”. There are 5 other priests from our diocese including Fr. Tim Gareau, our Dean, and Fr. Matt Byrne, pastor of St. John Bosco. I am very excited for this time as there will be dynamic speakers sharing on how to foster good ministry and culture in parishes. Please keep us in prayer that the week be fruitful for us and all the other priests attending from around the country.
On Friday, our school faculty and staff will have a daylong formation session (Pt. 1 of 2) on Theology of the Body (TOB) taught by Mrs. Jen Ricard, the Director of Theology of the Body Cleveland. I am very excited for them to be receiving this life-giving teaching on humanity and sexuality given to us by Pope St. John Paul II. We are blessed to have such a resource (TOB CLE) in our Diocese and are very blessed to have them coming to our school to do such formation. Please keep Jen and our faculty and staff in your prayers that day so that their time may be fruitful.
