Welcome to Holy Family, Deacon Dale! It was a great blessing to celebrate Deacon Dale’s Mass of Thanksgiving here this weekend! It was so great to have so many priests, deacons, family members, friends, and members of our community to pray with him as he enters into this new season of life, faith, and ministry! Thank you as well to all those who helped to make the liturgy beautiful and who helped to organize the reception after the Mass.

You will notice in the bulletin this weekend the SAVE THE DATE and schedule of events for our Celebration Weekend this July! Stay tuned to more details about the particulars of the weekend as we continue to plan.

Coming to you in mail very soon will be a letter and a printout sheet of tickets for our summer raffle! The prize will be either a 3-year lease of a 2025 Nissan Kicks or a $10k cash prize. These tickets will be shared with the parish and day school, pre-school, and daycare families. We also plan to have a tent and sell the tickets by the rectory off York Rd where the car will be parked for some time. The drawing will be the evening of July 26th, the day of the parish picnic.

If you have been around or driven around the parish in the evening this last week, you may have noticed the church looking a bit different. I am very grateful to NiteLights of Cleveland who designed and installed outdoor lighting and bollards along the sidewalks that have really made the church building shine in the evening hours. This lighting was needed for safety and was a consideration during the church renovation project. If you have a chance to drive by in the evening, it would be worth a trip!

On this Mother’s Day weekend, a word from Pope St. John Paul II: “Thank you, women who are mothers! You have sheltered human beings within yourselves in a unique experience of joy and travail. This experience makes you become God’s own smile upon the newborn child, the one who guides your child’s first steps, who helps it to grow, and who is the anchor as the child makes its way along the journey of life.”
