Adult Religious Education OCIA-
Becoming a Catholic Today
Jesus calls all of us to salvation (Acts 4:12), but the course of our journey often follows very different paths. For some the faith journey may have started with Baptism as an infant. Others may have found the path to be more diverse and winding.
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is a Christian faith journey through which adults are introduced to the Catholic faith and invited to explore the possibility of being welcomed into the Catholic Church.
The OCIA is an adult faith journey for:
- Adults who have never been baptized
- Adults baptized in another Christian faith who desire to learn about the possibility of becoming Catholic
- Adults baptized Catholic who never completed their initiation through Confirmation and Eucharist
The purpose of our gathering is to walk with adult candidates, share instruction in the faith, Scripture, Catholic Tradition, and an opportunity to grow in a deeper relationship with Jesus.
The OCIA meets weekly on Tuesday evenings beginning in September and continues until spring. Though the commitment seems long, it is an opportunity to pray, to learn, to share, and to grow in faith. If you or someone you know would like to know more about the OCIA, please contact Holy Family Parish (440) 842-5533.
