Mark your calendars for our Advent Parish Mission on the evenings of December 1st, 2nd, and 3rd! Fr. Michael Denk, Pastor at St. Matthias and a son of our parish, will be joining us to share with us how to enter into the Advent season, preparing our hearts for the coming of Jesus. You will not want to miss this deepening and inspiring event!

Tuesday is the feast day of St. John Paul II! I have personally been deeply influenced by John Paul’s holiness, life, teachings, most notably the Theology of the Body which he gave the world in his Wednesday audiences in Rome over his first three years of his papacy. Ultimately, Christianity wasn’t simply something John Paul believed in, but he lived. This is the central idea of Theology of the Body: “The body, in fact, and only the body, is capable of making visible what is invisible: the spiritual and the divine. It has been created to transfer into the visible reality of the world, the mystery hidden from eternity in God, and thus to be a sign of it.”    St. John Paul II, pray for us.

Lastly, Monday is Fr. Evans birthday! I am sure that he would appreciate us sending up a birthday prayer or two. I did see him at the Convocation last week and he is doing well on the East side, helping with Masses at a few parishes, and enjoying time with family and friends.
