Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
The ministry of distribution of Holy Communion is integral for the life and health of the Holy Catholic Church. Fully-initiated Catholics who are at least 18 years old and who have been called to serve as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priests and deacons in distributing Holy Communion at Masses. In addition, some Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion volunteer to bring the Eucharist to those who are unable to attend Sunday Masses, whether they are home bound, residing at nursing homes, or hospitalized.
